Back in our young adult years, I remember that Chad would frequently make chili, and I loved it. Pretty much all that I would eat was frozen burritos, ramen noodles, and pasta. But Chad had a knack for whipping up some pretty tasty meals. Anyway, I have been going through his notebooks and I found his recipe for “Chad’s Chili”. So here it is – I hope you enjoy it.
Chad’s Chili
- Meat – 2lbs Hamburger
- Tomato Soup (Campbells) 2 cans
- Chili Beans (Cheapest) 2 cans
- Kidney Beans (Cheapest) 1 can
- 1 Green Pepper (Bell)
- 1 Jalapeno Pepper
- Smallest Onion
- Oregano Leaves (Crushed)
- Salt & Pepper
- Garlic Salt
The best recipes are the ones with food stains. Thanks for sharing. I love you Todd
Yes, you can tell it was well-used.
You forgot the secret ingredients…he told me not to tell anybody, but he always added a can of Hormel chilli. Loved Chad’s chilli, except we would make enough to last a week. Miss you bro!!
Chad’s recipes were always hard to replicate. He always used unknown ingredients such as “Brown Sauce”. What is that? You can’t go to the store and ask were they keep the Brown Sauce. They’ll look at you like your crazy!
Chad told me that his Kamikaze is made with Brown Sauce, the toughest meat they sell, and Jalapenos; but not just any Jalapenos, they have to be the “right ones” – whatever that means. Let me know if anyone figures this one out because it is amazing!
